Sport is about emotions and feelings

Sport is not just playing a game to win! It has many different dimensions. Sport has a soul!

It’s widespread when athletes say he/she is angry when he loses a game or he/she wants to dance when he/she wins the game. The nature of the sport is about emotions and feelings. Athletes like other people can experience many different emotions such as anger, sadness, happiness, fear, shame, guilt, anxiety, surprise, pride, or many other feelings before, during, and after their performance.

When you ask people, what do you think of sports, they may say: “It’s about playing a special game to keep our body-safe”. Yes, this is the right answer, but it’s not a perfect definition of sport. Doing exercises is all about health, happiness, goals, wins, defeats, feelings, and many other dimensions. The winner indeed is the one who loves what he/ she does. Doing exercises with no emotions is not worthy of spending a minute. So, it is crucial to have a goal, and having a goal is about having good feelings about doing that thing. When all of us do something that we are not interested in, we may finish that thing, but the quality will not be satisfying.

People with physical impairments and sport

Take at least a few hours and think of your goal of doing sports. Think very deeply. What is your purpose in doing that particular game, and why are you doing it? If you have not a good reason for yourself, we are sorry to call you a loser. If you know why you are doing that, then congrats! You are a real champion. The physical impairment will not stop you from achieving your goals, making you no different from other people. Just think of the games that you like, and they are suitable for your physical conditions. Think of RaceRunning, Blind Football, Goalball, Powerchair Football, and hundreds of sports ideal for people with physical impairments

Doing sports has rules!

Every sport has its own rules. If you want to be a perfect sportsman or sportswoman, you should obey these rules such as:

  • Choosing the right game you like
  • Choosing the right coach or trainer
  • Time and duration of playing games
  • Follow a diet
  • Work on team job
  • Have a personal schedule of exercises
  • Balanced and enough exercises

Be careful!

All sports can be fun and enjoyable when you love what you are doing. Every game can be very annoying when you feel tied to that game. Spend enough time on what you are doing, not more. Don’t forget other life dimensions, like spending time with family and friends, reading books, watching movies, and thousands of other exciting things. These activities keep your soul alive and strengthen you to spend time on the game you are interested in.

Never forget that sports have a soul too. Try to connect with your favorite game profoundly, and do your best to become a champion. It is usual for every person to be happy, angry, anxious, nervous, etc., because the human being is full of emotions. These emotions make our relations with the people around us. Champions, athletes, sportsmen, and sportswomen are human beings too! So, they have emotions as well as all human beings have. The critical issue can control these emotions and feelings.

Emotion control in sport

Having control over emotions and feelings is an essential issue in every person’s life. A person with a bad temper or angry manner is not the kind of guy that other people can stand very quickly. They leave him or her. In the battle field, every athlete is responsible for his or her feelings and emotions. Imagine a RaceRunning match. If someone feels fear or anxiety, the failure is not far from the mind. That person is the one who tastes the fault, no other player. But, in a Torball game, a teamwork game, if someone can not control emotions like anger or anxiety, they can make the whole team nervous or angry and may fail the game.

Controlling emotions are vital for every single athlete or champion. Try to work on that hard.
